Rodina developed a love for music and poetry as a little girl. She began singing and making up dances to her favourite songs at the age of 9, then developed a knack for writing poems at the age of 11. With some of her musical inspirations being Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Jewel, Sarah McLachlan and Alanis Morissette, she was deeply moved by Jewels story of how she made it to the top with just her guitar by her side. Inspired by the simple yet elegant style of Jewels music, as a young teen Rodina began teaching herself how to play guitar and turned her passion for poetry into music. For Rodina music was a way she could release and overcome some of her life experiences like love, anxiety and adolescent bullies, and she’s turned her experiences into over 30 original songs over the years. She had an opportunity to record her own album in 2001 titled Reflections of Venus, which she promoted by performing at most of the local Jam Nights in Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Thornbury and Meaford. As she met other artists at the Jam Nights she attended Rodina was touched by the support and encouragement in the local communities. She’s had the opportunity to host her own Acoustic Open Mic Nights both in British Columbia 2010 and Ontario 2016. Now Rodina occasionally provides background music in Restaurant establishments while people enjoy their Dining experience. She performs Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme songs in her Yoga, Music and Move Kids Classes and Kids Private Parties, and she volunteers at her daughter’s School showcasing her “Learn to Write a Song Program for Children & Youth”). Rodina created “The Learn to Write a Song Program” with intentions of showing Children & Youth how to release their life’s stresses, frustrations and emotional pains in positive ways. By using Music & Creativity we can connect our negative frequency emotions to certain chords, melodies and uplifting frequencies which will help us move from a negative state into a positive state. The students in the program will have the opportunity to express their feelings, use their creative imagination, learn tempo, rhythm, rhyming, syllables and creative poetry writing.
